The New International Student Orientation covers a four-day comprehensive program to address the unique needs of international students and scholars, many of whom are in the United States for the first time. This mandatory program assists with the acclimation of life at Buffalo State.
Fall 2019 New International Student Orientation for New Internationals begins Sunday, August 18, 2019.

Beginning in March, each student who has submitted their intent to enroll form and then will be sent an email to their personal email and Buffalo State email with a link to sign up for orientation. Please complete this step.
It is important that First-Year students register for orientation and submit their Weigel Health Forms as soon as possible. After submitting the Intent to Enroll form, registering for orientation and submitting your health records and academic adviser will develop your fall semester class schedule. Transfer students (who bring 30 or more credit hours of US college credits) will be given access to register for classes by your academic department.
Airport pick up
We have a complimentary shuttle with Buffalo Transportation Saturday August 17 at 6:00pm from the Buffalo Niagara International Airport, to take you to campus. Please confirm with Michelle Downey if you would like to have this service. Please email her at: email@example.com.
If you are arriving at a different time please take a taxi from the baggage claim area of the airport. The cost of transportation is typically $35-40. The Residence Halls also opens to on-campus students Saturday, August 17 at 6:00 p.m. You will not be permitted to stay on campus prior to Saturday. Reminder all students who are under the age of 21, with less than 30 credit hours are required to live on campus.
On Sunday, August 18 at 12:00pm we will offer a shuttle to a local store for your to pick up some basic needs and items you did not bring from home.
A mandatory orientation for all international students with study visas begins Monday, August 19, 2019. A schedule will be sent to each student via student email.
International Orientation and Buffalo State New Student and Transfer Student Orientation is $275.00 for entire first week.
All students will need to register through the link provided in their email. The cost of $275 includes meals Sunday, August 18-Thursday, August 22 when meal plans begin. This cost also includes all orientation materials, welcome packet and activities. Please pay on line or be prepared to pay by credit card or money order upon your arrival.
The first day of class is Monday, August 26.
