International Student and Scholar Services

The Office of International Student and Scholar Services processes all non-citizen applications for Visiting Scholars at Buffalo State.

Steps to Apply as a Visiting Scholar:

1. Complete the Visiting Scholar Application Form

2. Submit the Visiting Scholar Applicaiton Form, and include with your application a copy of your passport (only page with photo), resume, statement explaining purpose of visit, proof of finances, and an English Proficiency Verification Form with attachments (if English is not first language). 

3. Check your application status by contacting herrittl@buffalostate.edu.

The Scholar Buffalo State Mentor assists with the application process.  No applications will be reviewed without Academic Department and Mentor Support.

United Health Insurance is required by SUNY for all Buffalo State scholars supported by J1 visas.  Our office registers you for health insurance upon arrival. 

United Health monthly rate is $272.94.
