You Can't Dance Like That: Successfully Navigating Authentic Cross-Cultural Friendships 3:00 PM South Wing 7th Floor Conference Room

Presenters: Yanick Jenkins Carole Miller Canestrari

Friends from different racial and cultural backgrounds share the story of their relationship, including conflict resolution experiences and tips for maintaining and cultivating authentic communication and navigating difficult conversations. Participants will understand individual and personal roles and responsibility...the importance of communicating, seeing one another, and willingness to have difficult conversations. Through storytelling and sharing, participants will be guided to review and reflect on their own lives and experiences.

Dance Appreciation students share their research of dances from around the world.  Stop by their table in Campbell Student Union and get ready to wiggle your toes with new dance moves.

Women’s World Empowerment Panel  at 6:00 PM  Campbell Student Union Assembly Hall

UB Distinguished Speakers Series: Marie Yovanovitch 7:00 PM at Center for the Arts, UB North Campus

Wind Ensemble 7:30 PM at Performing Arts Center 

Director, Dr. Rick Fleming

Everyone is welcome to attend. The concert will be live streamed on the Buffalo State Music Department YouTube channel. The Wind Ensemble performs works in the traditional wind band repertoire as well as contemporary works of various styles. FREE - no ticket required.

Peace Corp Presentation

Amanda Cady, representative to Peace Corps shares how to go abroad after graduation with the Peace Corps. Through Peace Corps’ two-year program life-defining experiences, volunteers can fully integrate into a host country community, where they live and work on education, health, economic development, environment, agriculture, and youth development projects. This workshop will cover Peace Corps programs, benefits and commitment, the requirements, and how to apply.

Immigration Art 6:00 PM  at Campbell Student Union Assembly Hall

It’s never too early for students to plan their immigration future! Learn more about employment-based visa options after graduation. Both enrolled students and students on OPT and STEM OPT are encouraged to attend.
