New International Student Orientation
New undergraduate and graduate students participate in New International Student Orientation upon arrival to campus. New International Student Orientation assists with acclimation to life at Buffalo State, discusses resources available on campus, and allows you to meet other students who are new to Buffalo State and the United States.

Fall 2023 Orientation: New International Student Orientation for Fall 2023 will be held on Monday, August 21, 2023 to Wednesday, August 23, 2023 from 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Students will meet with their academic advisor on Friday, August 25, 2023. Fall 2023 classes begin on Monday, August 28, 2023.

Registering for Classes
It is important that new international students register for orientation and submit their Weigel Health Forms as soon as possible. After you confirm that you will be attending Buffalo State with the Office of Admissions, you will be sent a link to register for orientation. After submitting your New Student Health Form to Weigel Health Center, an academic adviser will work with you to develop your fall semester class schedule. Transfer students who bring 30 or more US credit hours will be given access to register for classes by their academic department.
Airport Pick-Up
Each semester, Buffalo State offers a complimentary shuttle at a single designated time picking up at the Buffalo Niagara International Airport and dropping off at Buffalo State's campus.
Spring 2023 Shuttle Pick-Up: Our complimentary shuttle for the Spring 2023 semester is scheduled for Wednesday, January 25, 2023 at 6:00PM. This shuttle will pick students up at the Buffalo Niagara International Airport at 6:00PM and transport students directly to Buffalo State's campus. If you would like to use this service, please confirm with Tricia Herritt prior to arrival by emailing herrittl@buffalostate.edu.
If you are arriving at a different time please take a taxi from the baggage claim area of the airport. The cost of transportation is typically $35-40.
Fall 2023 airport pick up will be Saturday, August 19, 2023 at 6:00 p.m.
New International Student Move-In
Spring 2023: The Residence Halls opens to new international students who will be living on campus on Wednesday, January 25,2023 at 6:00 p.m. You will not be permitted to stay on campus prior to Wednesday, January 25,2023 at 6:00 p.m.
As a reminder, all students who are under the age of 21, with less than 60 credit hours are required to live on campus. Students are also required to show proof of COVID vaccines prior to arrival in the US. Please submit COVID vaccine documentation to the Weigel Health Center at weigel@buffalostate.edu
